I bring over 15 years of experience in global financial markets, having worked in roles ranging from trader to CEO, including leadership positions such as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Market Strategist. My career has spanned pivotal moments in financial history, including the Global Financial Crisis, the European Sovereign Debt Crisis, Brexit, the global pandemic, and other transformative events. These experiences have honed my ability to navigate uncertainty and develop data-driven strategies in complex markets.
Currently, I hold an MBA from the University of Oxford, an experience that has deepened my strategic thinking and broadened my global perspective. My academic journey also includes Master’s degrees in Financial Management and International Political Economy, as well as a BSc in Psychology, which together provide a multidisciplinary understanding of how finance, economics, business, and politics intersect.
My professional expertise includes algorithmic trading, volatility derivatives, and investments in the technology sector. I’ve successfully managed private funds and advised clients on strategic financial decisions, consistently delivering innovative, evidence-based approaches to investing.
As the founder of Valdivieso & Co., I combine strategic thinking with a global vision. Under my leadership, the firm is dedicated to creating value for clients while addressing broader economic challenges with a focus on innovation and resilience.
I’ve also had the privilege of contributing to the financial community as a speaker and thought leader. My insights have been recognised in academic and industry circles, and I’ve been invited to high-profile international forums such as the Qatar Economic Forum, Bloomberg Invest Summit, and other prestigious events in New York and Davos. I am also a recognised expert in Chile, with over 300 media appearances over the past 14 years, providing analysis on macroeconomic trends and financial markets.
In recent years, I’ve been particularly drawn to research in economics, as well as impact investing, believing in the power of economics and finance to drive meaningful, positive change in the world.
